Facilitator Guidance

Key principles for delivering Green Track effectively.

Create Safety First

Establish clear ground rules. Use circle or U-shaped seating. Normalize emotions. Place tissues throughout the room. Allow students to step out if needed.

  • ✓ Establish ground rules early
  • ✓ Normalize all feelings
  • ✓ Provide choice in participation

Use Metaphors & Visuals

Students this age learn best through story and symbol. Use the MATCH puzzle pieces, create visual posters, use activity cards. Avoid clinical language when possible.

  • ✓ Post visual frameworks
  • ✓ Use metaphor-rich language
  • ✓ Make activities interactive

Know Your Boundaries

Review your organization's mandated reporting requirements. Have local resource cards ready. Know when and how to escalate if a student discloses trauma or risk.

  • ✓ Know reporting requirements
  • ✓ Have resources on hand
  • ✓ Practice self-care
